YES MILANO
An homage to Leonardo, this film was made in celebration of the Leonardo exhibition at Expo 2025, Osaka. It depicts the large equestrian statue at the Milan Hippodrome on his journey through Milan and across the sea to Osaka, where he inspires a young girl to visit Milan and immerse herself in the legacy of Leonardo. This narrative is particularly poignant, as Leonardo was commissioned to complete the sculpture in 1482 by the Duke of Milan, but the project never got past the initial preparatory stages. Over 500 years later, Japanese- American artist Nina Akamu finally created a sculpture based on Leonardo’s sketches, bringing Leonardo and the Duke of Milan’s dreams to fruition.
This film was produced in collaboration with The Cuddly Pets of Komodo, Milano and Partners, with sound design by Smidernoise, Funded by Milan’s Ministero del Turismo.
